Statement of Faith

About God – We believe and worship the one true God who is the creator of Heaven and Earth. God revealed himself to us as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit existing as a trinity who is eternal. He was God in the past, he is God in the present, and he is God of the future.

About Jesus – We believe that Jesus is the Christ who is the Son of God – conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He is fully God and fully Man. He was crucified on the cross for the sins of humankind, was buried, and rose from the grave on the third day. He ascended into Heaven and will one day return to the Earth.

About the Holy Spirit – We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person sent to instill an understanding of the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit illuminates to us our sins and guides us on a path towards redemption. The mandate of the Holy Spirit is to lift up the name of Jesus Christ and pray for all those who believe in Christ.

About the Bible – We believe that the Bible- both the Old and New Testaments- is how God reveals himself to us. The Bible is the Word of God and it is the absolute truth for Christian beliefs and living.

About Salvation – We believe that through disobedience man became separated from God and fell into sin. Only through Jesus Christ can man attain eternal life living in fellowship with God. All who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior – those who confess with their mouths and believe in their hearts the power of God that raised Christ from the dead – are saved. They are born again into a new life and are justified and sanctified.

About Church – We believe that Christ is the head of the church. The universal church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and are redeemed by his blood. The local church is the community of born-again believers gathered together to worship, to pray, and to be edified through the Word of God. The local church unites with other like-minded churches for unity and fellowship. Through our worship, preaching, teaching, baptism, observing the Lord’s Supper, fellowship, disciple making, evangelism, and serving the character of God is manifested.

About Baptism and Lord’s Supper – We believe that baptism is in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. In baptism, we declare publicly that we have died with Christ, been buried with Christ, and have been resurrected in Christ into a new life. The Lord’s Supper consists of sharing among believers of the bread which represents Christ’s body broken for us on the cross and of the cup which represents his blood which was shed. This is done in remembrance of Christ’s death and also in anticipation of his second coming.

About the Second Coming of Christ – We believe that the mission of Christians is to spread the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ until he returns again. We do not know the day or the hour of his arrival.
